| Wisely our national partners in India have postponed John’s training trip this month due to the Covid Omicron variant. The trip is not cancelled so we anticipate our Asia Impact Team (AIT) going in a time frame from March to May. Pray for clarity in these decisions. Even though we are not yet going, God seems to be working several miracles in relation to this trip. With Covid you Pivot. John would have been in Japan and Asia at least 4-6 times by now but he has been restricted by the pandemic. Yet, with the postponement we have more time to prepare our team and our presentations. So instead, this month our team will be meeting face-to-face to prepare for these pastors conferences in India. Two more will be joining us for this meeting as we have one new team member, Cirilo Doguiles, and our team leader who was unable to gather with us last fall. Please hold up in prayer our gathering in Oregon on Feb 20-24. Pray also that we are able to line up some practical training in some local churches while we are there. We will be preparing our personal grace stories, messages, seminars, and team training. FOCUS ON ASIA After our AIT Preparation Summit, three of us will drive to from Eugene Oregon to Seattle Washington. Two of us will be participating in the Reaching Japanese for Christ (RJC) International Conference near Seattle (Feb 24-26). This is a network of people doing evangelism among Japanese in North America. John has been involved over the years with RJC speaking, teaching online courses and he led an online workshop at last year’s international conference. John has not personally attended for many years. If you are in the area, we hope to see you there. Pray for China – And pray for Chinese Christians during the 2022 Olympics in Beijing: As the eyes of the world turn toward Beijing and the XXIV Olympic Winter Games, will you join with believers all across the globe to pray for our Christian brothers and sisters suffering persecution at the hands of China’s government? Voice of the Martyrs is signing up thousands to pray for China each day during these Winter Olympics. FOCUS ON MOBILIZING US CHURCHES On January 24th, John and Elaine headed to Madison, Wisconsin to train a team at the Doxa Church as they plan to enter Japan as missionaries in the near future. We were very encouraged as was the team about our presentations and sharing our spiritual hearts. Pray for future mobilizing of this team and many others. FOCUS ON JAPAN Japan Church Multiplication Vision Festival – National Strategy Summit will be held on February 28-March 1st. Unfortunately, John due to Covid restrictions will not be able to get into Japan to attend this year. This strategic meeting is growing, and they are locating to a larger venue this year. Pray that God would grant His vision and that many workers would be bold in faith to collaborate together for more churches throughout Japan. Many people are interested in John’s new book on Japanese as an Unreached People Group and have been asking on the progress. All is going well with steady progress. The book has been planned out and several chapters are wrapping up. Pray for a completion goal by the end of May. |
