Saturday Update

The triple shock of a 9.0 earthquake, a major tsunami, and one of the world’s worst nuclear disasters (that is still not resolved) is a drain on all of us. The outpouring of “World Class” concern and prayer has been so encouraging to everyone I talk to.

Each day’s events brings with it uncertainty and also hope. Yesterday and today there have been many developments. I just wanted to remind us all to pray for God’s intervention in the nuclear situation here a major concern to all of us and some good news on the relief efforts. I will catch up and post several items tomorrow. I want all of you in the US to have prayer and updated information for Sunday worship gatherings.

We heard today that as the death toll exceeded 7,000 that this is the worst disaster in Japan since World War II. And the number of deaths exceeded the massive Hanshin (Kobe) earthquake in 1995. PRAY for the comfort for those who lost love ones and friends. There is so much grief and shock here.

News from the Fukushima nuclear plant was mixed today it seems they are making some progress then there was the report of foodstuffs with “high levels of radiation” from Fukushima and Miyage Prefectures. PRAY that God would intervene in this nuclear crisis and that the reactors would be cooled and that no further radiation would be emitted in the atmosphere around the plant.
