Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief organization, air shipped today 93 tons of emergency relief supplies (http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/articles/airlifting_supplies_to_japan/). The shipment is being transferred through US military bases to arrive at the Sendai airport. Once it arrives the intended destination is for the CRASH base camp in Sendai, just set up on Thursday. CRASH is attempting to mobilize trucks and volunteers to help pick up these needed supplies at the airport and help deliver aid to the local community (http://crashjapan.com/). PRAY that operations would move smoothly and that enough trucks and their necessary fuel would be able to arrive at the Sendai airport. Samaritan Purse’s, Franklin Graham, was interviewed on CNN. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/articles/airlifting_supplies_to_japan/
GIVE that supplies could be purchased, shipped to the affected areas, delivered to base camps and distributed as efficiently as possible. Give that local Christians can give these essential supplies to their neighbors in the Name of Christ and share the hope in him. Converge Worldwide has already given one gift and we want to collect more funds so that more can be given to these herculean efforts not just in the month of March but several months from now.
