The last week seemed like a whirlwind of change as several opportunities for this year presented themselves at the same time. When you are in God’s ministry sometimes opportunity comes right up and knocks on your door. Most of ministry is not planned but is situational anyway. I wish I was this flexible and open to opportunities when I was younger.
First, an old colleague from Japan wrote me and said that he will be doing a seminar at Chicago’s Moody Bible Institute annual Mission Conference, and he wants me and others to join him in presenting. This is a seminar on “Engaging Japan as the Body of Christ.” I will be working with a CPI leadership team member, Dan Iverson, and Chris Harrington of SEND International. We have all known each other for many years through CPI and get to share with interested students the opportunities in Japan. The 1-hour seminar is on Thursday at 11am. Please pray that we will exemplify collaboration and inspire the students. Let people know who may be attending the conference that I will be there Thursday. Our Converge mission will have two people also visiting with students.

Second, it was kind of short notice, but at the end of the month I will be going to South-east Asia with my partner Phu Pham to conduct a range of seminars with at least 3 groups of key national leaders on leadership development and coaching skills. The open door was for late February and early March and delaying the schedule would mean we would not be able to do them at all. So we quickly planned the schedule, got air tickets, and are waiting for visas. Already God is working. Please pray for all the preparation.
