Because opportunities are great and our time is not, we constantly work at focusing their energy and time for maximum Kingdom impact. Here are some areas that demand our focus.
Focusing on Developing People – We continue with outreach classes, Bible studies, and spiritual mentoring. It is bittersweet that our cohort on gospel renewal discipling ends this month. On 1/31 John preaches in both services at the Nerima Baptist Church and then leads a training session on Christian Community for the church’s small group leaders.
Focusing on Writing – Both Elaine and John have major writing projects on spiritual renewal and church planting Jan – Feb.
Focusing on Growth – The CPI Leadership Team is adding members and hope to schedule a team retreat soon. We are searching for a new location for the 2017 CPI National Conference. Looks like we will have at least 8-10 regional seminars this year. John meets with key leaders on 1/18 with the Church Planting Initiative for the 6th Japan Congress on Evangelism.
Focusing on Rest and Family – We just returned from some vacation in the US over Christmas.
Focusing on Our Ministry Partners – We will meet with members of the Rengo Tokyo district on 1/17.
We are making preparations for Home Assignment Tour of the US from March through December. We have 35 churches and over 25 personal ministry partners to visit in just 43 weeks (that include Easter, Christmas and other holidays). We leave when the Higashi Kurume building project in Tokyo is completed in late February.
