In late February and early March John was in Southeast Asia with Phu Pham meeting with 4 groups of key regional church leaders. Because of the nature of our practical training we requested they keep the groups under 35 members. So over six days we met with over 115 key pastoral and ministry leaders. We focused on three areas 1) Radical Christian Leadership – Following the example of Jesus himself, we painted a picture for leadership in Asia that is less positional, more servant based and focused on collaboration not competition. 2) Coaching networks – We had a lot of fun showing these leaders how they could be great encouragers like Barnabas. They all learned the practical skill of coaching other leaders. 3) Leadership Multiplication – The most important assignment we gave them was to list 3-5 leaders in whom they would invest their time. Imagine 115 leaders multiplied by 3 or 5? That is what we are expecting in the months and years ahead. These same leader’s groups will have another round of church planting training later this year.
